The answer to this question will vary greatly, depending on who is answering; the General / Overall answer is Yes.
Most ink suppliers [but not all] sell either 2 or 3 types of Black refill ink; Pigmented Black, Dye-Based Black, %26amp; some may sell so-called Universal Black.
* NEVER use so-called ';Universal Inks'; - they are nothing but a disaster waiting to happen.
It is important to use the correct types of inks for your printer.
Most HP, Cannon, Dell, %26amp; Lexmark printers use ';Pigmented Black';, %26amp; also use ';Dye-Based'; Tri-Color.
Most {but not all} HP inks are interchangable with most {but not all} Lexmark inks.
There are ink suppliers who would answer no to your question; one example is R-Jet Tek; I am presently refilling 11 of HP's most popular Black Inkjet Cartridges, and am using 3 different types of Black ink to do so; also refilling 11 of HP's most popular Tri-Color cartridges - am using a total of 15 different color inks - it just depends on who you're asking, %26amp; how techinical we want to get.
The inks I use here OCP inks - very expensive - made in Germany - I do most of my business with R-Jet Tek
%26lt;www.rjettek.com%26gt;. - OCP is very precise.
I will list 3 other Ink Suppliers in the sources box; they can confirm the ';Pigmented Black'; %26amp; ';Dye-Based Tri-Color';.
I believe it is highly probable you can interchange the inks without problems.
Good Luck,

';Little Covered Wagon Cartridge X-change';Can i fill an hp ink cartridge with lexmark ink?
Depends. Just the black or is it a color cartridge. If it's black of course you can.Can i fill an hp ink cartridge with lexmark ink?
I don't think so...
You can fill it unless it does not damage your printer. Refilling catridge can be used on printer but it is not safe . It may sometimes damage your printer head.
have a nice day.
